Tides shift as growth expands in one class and some of the top names take a break in other classes. An
example of this would be two big names on the east coast in drivers Ken Blume and Rusty Bray move into
the newly famed Pro Modified Class while Drivers Marty Hart and Randy Torbett (1-time World Champion,
2006 Eastern U.S. Nationals Champion) in the Unlimited Class take some time off and leaves rooms for
more talent to take ranks.
So what's this mean? The Pro Modified Class has been growing in interest due to the recognizable bodies
and find more validation by having the interest of even more teams in the sport move into the highly
anticipated class. Along with the recognizable bodies, the Pro Modifed Class is allowed to run "Themed"
Vehicle panels for the growing interest in the American Youth Market. The class also narrows down the
use of technological advantages by using certain restrictions to turn the class into a more even playing
field. In doing so, W.E.ROCK has created a "Drivers Class" where a good driver, without the massive budgets
can pull in a favorable vehicle and do well within the circut.
Beyond the Pro Modified Class, The drop of two of the biggest names in the Unlimited Class offers a story-line
like no other. Hart and Torbett combine for more than 10 wins in their Professional Rock Crawling Careers with
1 World Championship and several Divisional and Nationals Championships Wins. With this void, there is now
room for new talent to step up the ranks and find their niche within the top ranks. Teams to watch for?
All are fierce competitors and the great thing about Rock Crawling is that anyone can win at anytime, but
we'll give you insight on the teams that made a great stide and impact in 2006.
In the Unlimited Class four teams won an Eastern U.S. National event last year and no one team won any two
events in W.E.ROCK. Styles, Hart, Deas, and Torbett came away with wins, but the biggest sleeper in the duo
of Haines and Howard are always a threat. Haines and Howard took more second places in the 2006 year than
any team in the U.S. "We've been knocking on the door since we won the Grand Nationals in 2005, it's only
a matter of time until we take the win for Maxxis," Stated Haines in an interview with Low-Range Magazine.
Other names on the block are Jake Gochenour (Who took 6th at Hannibal) and Adam Carter who showed enough
promise to be nominated for "Rookie of the Year." What they place this year will determine their overall
placing and how they stand out.

Other questions in the division are based all over the board. Can Derek West and Ritchie Keller take the
Modified Stock Class in route to two of the biggest events of the year in the Grand Nationals and World
Championships? Both of which they have yet to win. With the growing interest in the stock class, are we
bound to see the tides shift again by having the Pro Modifed and Modified Stock Classes as the Premier
Classes in W.E.ROCK? Only time will tell. Will all the hype from watching Blume and Bray move into
Pro Modified spark more teams to move into the ever growing class? And will Rorher be able to defend two
of the best drivers in the class along with the great teams already in the class like Drew Glodie, Chris May
and Lee Smith? The only Pro Modified girl driver as Kim Sears might make a comeback in an entirely new
vehicle, one of which has won countless championships in the Western U.S. Nationals, will the new edition
to the team help or hinder the great driver?
It all comes down to this first event of the year, all the pre-season smack talking, the building of new
vehicles, and the gorwing of classes and talent... Should be an interesting openner scheduled for Hannibal,
Missouri on April 14th and 15th.
