For immediate release:
January 18, 2008. Carson City, Nevada – Professional rock crawling team, Badlands Rock Crawling and
Jesse Haines, is proud to announce that the team will be welcoming two time eastern series champion
Matt Deas, of Bryson City, North Carolina, as the new spotter for the 2008 W.E. ROCK western series.
After three seasons competing on the east coast, driver Jesse Haines left his home in Indiana, and moved
to Carson City, Nevada. Unfortunately, moving nearly two thousand miles away from long time spotter Brian
Howard would cause Howard to leave the team. He will now be spotting for Matt Deas in the W.E.ROCK
Eastern Series.
Earlier this month Deas spotted for the team at W.E. ROCK’s infamous Put Up or Shut Up event held in
Congress, Arizona. Although both Haines and Deas assumed it would be a one time thing, the duo worked
so well together that the decision was made to make Deas the permanent spotter for the 2008 season.
“I'm really excited about having Matt as my spotter this season”, stated owner/driver Jesse Haines. “We
worked great together at Put Up or Shut Up, and it was a lot of fun to compete with him rather than
against him.”
Matt will make his regular season debut with the team April 19th and 20th at the W.E. ROCK season opener
in Perris, California. “We hope to get a little practice in before the first event so we can both get
better acquainted with the west coast terrain”, says Matt Deas.
