Pro Modified in Perris

The Pro Modified Class, who would have thought that the class would have such a high turnout? It has become very apparent that this is the class of the future for many teams and sponsors. There is no single thing that makes one class better than another, they are all fun and interesting to watch for different people and the nice thing about the W.E.ROCK events are that there is something for everyone concerning classes and vehicle association. However, the ability to obtain one of the most capable vehicles in the world along with the marketability of the full body panels shows that the simple vehicle association goes a long way in the world of motorsports, especially for the Pro Modified Class.

This being said, many of the top athletes in rock crawling have made the move, making the class more competitive. Many said that with these moves, the teams that have been driving in the Pro Modified class the longest would find themselves obsolete due to the great amount of talented drivers entering the class. This wasn't quite the case as the Lovell Racing Team, who have been at the top of Pro Modified for some time, has found the 1st place podium spot once again and shut down Ex Unlimited team Tracy and Jason Jordan. It was a good fight, especially since there seems to be some very clear animosity between the two teams, but we still found some of the "Old Faithfuls" at the top like Dean Bulloch and Karl Munford as well as Brian Errea with stand in spotter Jason Paule. In fact, the top three teams over the past several years still made a huge impact over the great list of rookies and the amazing talent that the class provides.

So it was the Lovell, Errea, and Bulloch teams that made the top, but the emergence of Troy Bailey and Travis Heslington , as well as Nicole and Frank Johnson that made people open their eyes while Names like Tracy Jordan and Jason Scherer gave even more validity to the already very valid class equiped with some of the best drivers in the world.

So where did everyone end up? Brad and Roger Lovell took first over Tracy and Jason Jordan, but I can tell you that even though the Lovell's won, Tracy should be smiling. Why? Check out all the standing from the west in years past, the team who took second place in the first event when on to win the series. This exact scenario happened to the Lovell's last season as they grasped the Western U.S. Series Championship, could history repeat itself?

Truth is that the class wouldn't be what it is without all of the teams, think about it, The Pro Modified class has some amazing teams. Look at Top Ranked Rock Racer Weston Blackie, or Paraplegic driver Marc Thurston, or Modified Stock World Champ Buzzy Bronsema, or W.E.ROCK's first World Champion Becca Webster, or the regaining Pro Mod World Champ Dave Cole; all of them in the Pro Mod class. The addition of Ex Unlimited Drivers Jason Scherer, Pete Mazzoni, Weston Blackie, Hal Frost, and Jody Everding make it very apparent that a shift has been made.
