W.E. Rock Eastern Round #3 at Badlands in Attica, Indiana will be airing on the SPEED Channel’s “Lucas Oil…On the Edge!”  This will be Episode #3 of Season 8 airing on the following date:

“Sunday morning welcomed the addition of the SPEED Channel “Lucas Oil on the Edge” crew to the sidelines to video the excitement.  With a scheduled later start, the teams had a little more time to gather and get ready for the days competition.  What wasn’t in the plan was the big black clouds that hovered and dumped rain for over an hour at the quarry of the Badlands Offroad Park.

Friday January 13, 2011     3pm – 6pm

Friday night is what we call Tech and Registration where the drivers bring the cars to be inspected by the race officials and register to race.  These events will be held in town at a local business that has supported Dirt Riot.  You are encouraged to join us and meet the drivers and get autographs.  This is a very relaxed environment where you can come and go…or stay for the whole time.  Some will be at restaurants or be serving food so be sure to check the Schedule Page for all the details.

There will be six classes of drivers – the first three classes are all running for the love of the competition and for trophies. The Modified Trail Class, the Stock Trail Class and the UTV Classes are the guys that go four-wheelin’ on the weekends in whatever “jeep/4 wheel drive” they have…and now they will be taking the same vehicle out onto the race track! They will run a one hour race with a grand-prix finish.

Grand-prix finish means the checkered flag drops on the lead guy as close to the finish time (in this case one-hour) as possible, everyone else will get the checkered flag as they come through, regardless of what lap they are on. The person with the most laps wins and the tallying will continue. So, the second guy across the finish line may not necessarily be second because he may be on a lesser lap.

The other three classes are what we call, purpose-built rigs – this is the Ultra4 Stock 4500 and Modified 4600 classes who race for two-hours. The Ultra4 4400 class is the big boys class and race for three hous. If you are interested in what the rules are regarding the classes, go to www.ultra4racing.com/racers/rulebook/

After the final race of the day is over, you are welcome to stay for the Awards Ceremony where all of the drivers receive trophies and cash. Usually there is a planned party right after to enjoy the evening as a group.

On-site you will find food vendors, toilets and plenty of sunshine (on a good day). There is also lots of dirt, so plan on getting dusty. We also have the W.E. Rock Events General Store for all your official merchandise – t-shirts, hoodies, caps, etc. and many of our sponsors have booths at the event as well.

At the gate, pay your entry fee, and then follow the traffic flow. You will usually pass the W.E. Rock Events trailer first, please stop and take a look and ask ANY questions you may have. Then look around for the spectator safe areas to watch the action. Some sites have a wagon to get you to the areas if it is a large site, others have walking trails.

If you want to listen to the announcer, tune your FM radio in to the local station (we will have the # posted at the W.E. Rock Events trailer). If the weather is cooperating, everything will be broadcast over the loudspeakers too.

The Pits are open to the general admission. You are welcome to walk around and look at the cars and meet the drivers. Please be aware of your children when you are in this area for moving vehicles and parts.

Since you have already checked out the website, go to the event page under the Schedule Tab and check for the other details that are specific to the event you are attending, that’s where we list where the Driver Meet and Greet on Friday night with tech and registration is, what host hotel has special rates, etc. In addition, the actual race schedule will be posted, just be aware that this may change after driver registration because of the number of entries.

Some things you may want to bring with you – Folding chairs, blanket, sunscreen, hat or umbrella, coats, sweatshirts or rain gear depending on the forecast. Water to drink and snacks – coolers are allowed on site – however, be aware that some of our sites do not allow alcohol depending on the property owner, best to reference the Schedule Post. Money for buying souvenirs, but know that credit cards are accepted too.

PLACERVILLE, CA   JANUARY 3, 2012:  The 2012 Dirt Riot Series will kick off in Tucson, Arizona Saturday January 14^th at the MC Motorsports Park.  Pre race meet and greet will be held at 4 Wheel Parts in Tucson, Arizona on Friday January 13^th from 3pm to 6pm.  Dirt Riot racing is a combination of high speed rock racing and technical rock crawling that invites all types of 4 wheel drive vehicles from professional rock racers to stock jeeps and UTVs to take the green flag.  The course is visible by spectators and is family friendly racing.

“We are excited to be at this Tucson location,” said Rich Klein, President and founder of W.E. Rock Events.  “This race is planned to be a shake down for a lot of the King of the Hammers racers, so we are expecting some of the big names to come out and race.”   The course will be about 5-6 miles in length, incorporating parts of the rock crawl area, most all of the tuff truck course and a desert section with washes and tight technical sections. The pits will be right on the edge of the race course with a hot pit lane between the race track and the main pits.  Quick stops will happen in the hot pits and major repairs can proceed to the main pits.  There are multiple classes including 4400, 4500, 4600, Sportsman Trail Classes and a UTV Class.  Local participants are encouraged and welcome to race and 4400 team members have the ability to race in the other classes with the schedule.

“Friday night the drivers and the vehicles will be in town at 4 Wheel Parts,” said Klein.  “This is a great time to see what the vehicles really look like and meet the drivers.”  4 Wheel Parts has graciously opened their parking lot to the flood of racers and hope that people will take the opportunity to come by to check out the vehicles and pick up coupons for the race on Saturday. Wheelers4Warriors is a Not for Profit organization designed to bring the Off Road Community together to honor our Soldiers and show them our appreciation for everything that they and their families sacrifice.

Founded in January 2011, Wheelers4Warriors has already begun making huge strides to give back to our heroes. In March we hosted an event that included a trail run and expo that raised over $3000. In December we hosted our second event and returned a Jeep to a Soldier and went on a trail ride to Crown King, AZ.
